The team are being let down by the circus at the moment

THE one disappointment for Liverpool at the moment is the success they are having on the pitch is being overshadowed by the problems off it.

This will no doubt be irritating the players and the manager because they should be receiving plaudits in the media, not seeing dirty linen being washed in public.

The first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Chelsea is only a week away so is it too much to ask that the team is allowed to prepare for such a massive game without the circus going on around them?

If the off the field problems can be put to one side until the end of the season that would be ideal because it is a massive distraction to have so much focus on the club for all the wrong reasons.

It certainly cannot help the players, although they have coped with everything that is going on fantastically.

I'm sure a lot of individuals are finding out about themselves at the moment because they are being tested. It would be easy for them to take their eye off the ball and the fact that this is not happening shows what good professionals they are.

Maybe that's where Gerrard's "Fixer" has gone. Maybe he's gone to "Fix" these boardroom issues. J/K ;-)

Well it seems that what Ian is asking is too difficult to acheive. It seems that these guys do not understand what it means to work behind the scenes. But then they are Americans, who are notoriously show offs.

A lot of people, including Rafa, are saying that the situation is not affecting the squad. But Ian knows a thing or two about being a member of the LFC squad, and what can constitute a distraction when you are playing at these levels. Why is it that we have to subject people like Gerrard, Torres and the rest, to extra pressure derived from the fact that they don't even know who'll be the manager, not next year, not next month, but even the next game.

At the moment I feel so disgusted. It's incredible what sort of bad luck we have. Others have been purchased in recent years, but it had to be LFC to be able to see a club turned into the daily joke.

I find this whole situation going from the ridiculas to the absurd with both Hicks and Gillette now pointing fingers at each other like two schoolboys involved in some naughty prank, yet this is no naughty prank its a total lack of common sense by both parties that has led to this incredible situation that seems to get worse by the day.its more a war of two huge ego's and now we find that even Rick Parry has been involved in the attempted backstabbing of Raffa Benitez. Why oh why did David Moores sell to those two incompetant idiots from across the pond, please, please, i beg of them sell to someone who really cares about the future of our great club.

Let us remember who took the money for the Americans to come in rather than the now much touted and praised DIC.

Please do not paint all of us across the pond with the same broad brush. Most of us are like you, hard working stiffs that simply want the best for the teams/clubs we support. It's the monied monkee men (cue up The Specials) from both sides of the pond that have made a mess of this. If Moores & Parry were a bit more hip to 21st Century football financing & had done a bit more due diligence, Laurel & Hardy wouldn't have gotten a sniff. Can only hope for common sense & the best interests of THE CLUB to prevail. Anyroad, digging what the lads are doing ON the pitch - walk on!
