Just a quick one to say Well Done to the Blues on their epic victory in the Champions League final in Moscow last night.
Great for the city, especially in Culture year, to see one of our sides performing so well on the Continental stage, makes you proud to be a Scou... what, you mean it was actually that lot from the wrong end of the M62 that lifted the trophy?
My mistake, easy to misinterpret the Cheshire-cat grins sported by so many Evertonians this morning for those of fans who actually know what a European Cup win feels like.
Ah well, at least one of their favourite teams is good at penalty shoot-outs...

Unbelievable!! Most of the kopites I know didnt even bother to watch the match last nite. Now I'll admit that whenever they've been in it I've wanted them to get beat, but I've still watched the game !!Trev, spot on mate, every 1 of them were behind Utd in 85. Short memories indeed.

We spent a fraction of that and finished fifth. If Moyes had had the money the RS had imagine where we'd be. Fourth would've definitely have been beneathus.

To all these silly pathetic blues out there who think they have achieved something by finishing 1 place below us, you finished exactly the same amount of points behind us as we finished behind your first team (Man United) 11 points.
So if thats the case we have got just as much chance of finishing above United as your team has of finishing above ours. Maybe if you worried about your own team a bit more you could close the gap on us, but supporting United seems to have become your obsession to rile us up.
We wouldnt have finished 4th if it wasnt for Torres, i love that shout, well lets say united wouldnt have finished top if it wasnt for Ronaldo, build a bridge blues, and stop with your bad shouts, we finished just as far behind united as you did us.

Rooney’s comments earlier this week should leave Everton fans in no doubt how much Everton meant to him. He condescendingly stated that Evertonians would understand now why he had to leave and join Utd, to play in big games like last nights and win major honours. Watching him dance in front of the Utd fans and kissing his badge while they sing vile songs about the city and people of Liverpool should turn every true scousers blood cold, whether Evertonian or Liverpudlian. As a Liverpool fan, from a family of both reds and blues, if Liverpool couldn’t win something I would rather Everton won it than a team outside the city. I don’t understand Everton fans love affair with Utd they despise EFC as much as they despise LFC.

Philip, Philip my boy, you have just proved your own hypocrisy. By actually being on this LIVERPOOL site it shows who is obsessed with who. Ask me how many blue or Manc sites I've been on in my life and my answer will be honest and true and be zero.

As a Blue, I do not believe all Evertonians wanted Manure to win. I was certainly hoping that Chelski would win it, for one I hate Ronaldo and his antics and was willing him to miss, for two although I understand why Rooney left and there were probably behind the scenes reasons for him being sold, not least of which are the simple fact that we needed the 20mill to help clear our debts, and finally if Chelski had won it we could all just dismiss their victory as Abramovic 'bought' the title with his investment of several hundered milluion in the past few years... Regarding Blues being bitter, perhaps it has something to do with asshls like Emlyn Hughes in the 80's when it was a time for the city to rejoice and he came out with his classic lines; and secondly with Benethus' comments such as 'small club' and thirdly when redsh#t rosetinted glasses wearing w##krs can't even admit Kuyt should have been sent off, Gerrard made Hibbert trip him by putting his leg out in front of him and then makes sure he gets sent off and finally by twttnberg not awarding Lescott a pen for JC's wrestling manouvre. I think this "Banter" between liverpool & Everton fans is getting more & more bitter & self destructive. I'd like to think the majority comes from people who live outside the city or are too young (Im 39) to remember the relatively (I still remember nearly getting attacked on the Kop during the friendly derby years)good natured wind ups of the 80's. I felt I should want Man U to win because we got £500k More out of it and they are a northern team but I would have been made up to see Ferguson & Rooney's face if Chelsea had won. There is no love affair with Man U.! Acrimony and anger (not bitterness)has risen recently among blue fans due mainly IMO to Benitez's comments (you have never heard an Everton official or player do down Liverpool as far as I am aware. That guy has no feeling for the city only his own job & success and Liverpool fans are being kidded if they think when he refers to "my fans" it is not purely because it protects his job. I dont particularly care how Liverpool are getting on and until Benotez would have gladly seen them win before Man U, as far as being on this site it was a link about Everton from Newsnow there is no obsession with Liverpool. I have seen red fans go crazy & spew bile when we finished fourth, show a bit of humility and character, you have a massive finacial advantage and more success in recent years. Why feel the need, like Benitez spoiled child that he is to make comments like small club and accuse Lescott of diving "it is disappointing to see behaviour like this" to do down whatever success Everton have and on the funds available it is a MASSIVE success. Apologies for the Rant but there are enough people with a downer on Liverpool without turning on each other.

As far as I'm concerened There are only 3 teams that are gunning for the league, Manure, Arsenal and Chelski. Liverpool fail constantly to do anything. They are a 4 rate team and if not for some dodgy refereeing for us we'd be fourth not them. They make me laugh because we are beginning to close the gap on them and they feel threatened.
The inconsequential squeaks coming from over the park just make it funnier.

From an neutral point of view I have to agree with the Blue side on this stream. It's just a big 3 now - accept that RS losers. You won nothing again - like us but at least we might win the Premiership next year - you're light years away. You should get 4th next year Everton unless the RS buy it (like we buy trophies, we've just got more money!! ha ha ha enjoy the memories 1990 ha ha ha).

The only thing that tripped us up this season was our failure to beat the filth.
Had we done that, and that comedy penalty hadn't been given in the CSKA London game, we'd have won the league on goal difference. It's little things that mean a lot.
Anyway, I'm still chuckling that Fletcher has usurped our Djimi as worst player ever to win a CL medal.
