Dani Pacheco shows he is one for the future
DANI PACHECO may not have featured on the scoresheet during LiverpoolReserves' 3-0 victory over Aston Villa in midweek.
But during a dazzling 20 minute cameo the Spanish teenager underlined why he is so highly thought of by everyone at Anfield.
Pacheco came off the bench with the Reds second string already two goals up and wasted no time in showing the skills which made him one of the hottest prospects in European football when he was prised away from Barcelona by Liverpool chief scout Eduardo Macia last summer.
Though short in stature, the 17-year-old talent is blessed with the kind of natural talent that gets fans on their feet, as illustrated by his superb defence splitting through ball to set up Liverpool's third and final goal against Villa.
Pacheco still has a long way to go before he can even think of challenging for a place in the first team. But the 7,000 fans who witnessed his cameo on Wednesday night might have been given an exciting glimpse of Liverpool's future.

I AGREE ,THE LAD LOOKED QUALITY, I WATCHED THE GAME ON LFC TV AND THIS KID WEN HE CAME ON STOOD OUT FROM THE MOMENT HE TOUCHED THE HOLLOW TURF, HE REMINDED ME OF ZOLA TO BE HONEST, QUALITY WILL BE KEEPIN TABS ON THIS ONE..
This kid is very exciting. Barcelona must have been gutted to loose him.
They must have hated losing the lad. But he made the right move Bojan and Dos Santos were their brightest prospects so he must have thought chances were slim.
If he shows he is good enough I don't see why he can't step up to the first team within a year.
Rafa just needs to start showing a little more faith in his youngsters. Its no longer a need to buy squad players anymore when you got reserves like that in the wings.
I also saw the game on LFC.tv, from certain camera angle and the way he runs, tricks he used and passes reminded me of Luis ( when Luis's passes came off that is), the only concern is his size, however if he progresses well then he'll make Prem defenders look like Sunday league players with that sublime touch and passing ability shown the other day.
Here are the highlights for anyone who hasn't seen them.
