John Barnes special evening of memories for Clare House

By Tony Barrett on Jun 7, 08 09:58 AM in Journalists

A LIMITED number of tickets remain for an evening in the company of one of Liverpool's greatest ever players.

John Barnes will relive the magical days when he terrorised fullbacks up and down the country in a charity night in aid of children's hospice Claire House at Anfield next Friday.

The wing wizard will be joined by former team-mate and fellow Liverpool legend Jan Molby and other surprise guests.

Tickets are priced £80 each (or £75 when booking a table of 10/12) and the cost includes a group photo with the old League Championship trophy, a three course Heathcotes at Anfield dinner and an arrival drink.

Villa talk so wide of mark

THE best unfounded rumour of the close season so far is that Liverpool have done a deal to sign Valencia's David Villa.

Looks like Villa is destined to be this summer's Thierry Henry. Only a matter of time before he's spotted looking for a house in Formby or looking for bargains in Great Homer Street market then.

Yanks praised

AT least Tom Hicks and George Gillett remain popular with some in football.

In the most nauseatingly sycophantic interview since Princess Diana fluttered her eyelashes at Martin Bashir, Alex Ferguson told David Frost how he hopes the American duo remain in charge at Anfield for years to come.

Says it all really
