Bargain! Or are Liverpool fans being taken for a ride?
DO a Google search for Thomas Cook and the first entry you will come across says "Book bargain holidays online at thomascook.com".
The holiday firm - who recently entered into a partnership deal with Liverpool FC - is also offering one night's single room accommodation at a three star hotel, a standard match ticket and a programme for the Reds home game against Stoke City for £202.67.
A quick trawl of the hotel in question's website reveals that an average one night stay on a Saturday costs £89 and a programme comes in at £3, so either a ticket for Stoke at home costs £110.67 or Thomas Cook is making a healthy profit on every booking.
That hasn't stopped fans from booking "bargain holidays online" however as even more expensive packages for Liverpool's home games against Man United, Everton, Chelsea and Spurs are already sold out.
There may well be a credit crunch but there is still precious little sign of it biting into the willingness of football fans to pay whatever it takes to see their team in action.
Kennedy link is Euro boost for Dossena
ANDREA Dossena's improvement during pre-season is reflected in the fact that he is no longer being compared unfavourably with Julian Dicks.
In certain quarters, the comparisons have now moved on to the much more positive Alan Kennedy.
Let's hope such a flattering assessment turns out to be apt and Dossena ends up scoring a European Cup winner in Rome at the end of the season.
