I'll remain in Spain - Liverpool target David Silva
SPAIN'S Euro 2008 star, David Silva, will not be moving to the Premier League.
The Valencia winger has been linked with moves to Liverpool and Manchester United this summer.
But the 22-year-old insists that only Barcelona could tempt him from the Mestalla - a move which now looks increasingly likely.
"I have no desire to play in England. My club know my decision and it will not change," he said.
"If I leave Valencia, my dream will be to go to Barcelona.
"I know there is interest from some big clubs in England, but I do not just want to move for money.
"England is one of the best leagues in the world, but I think that Spain is superior."

So in other words Gareth Barry is the ONLY option for the left of midfield (you don't think the chavs will sell cole to US do you? no chance!). At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how much he costs if signing him is the difference between winning for the league or not (and without a genuine left-sided midfielder we've got NO CHANCE!)
All those (so-called) fans who sang about Barry against Lazio have shot the club in the foot big time by giving Parry and the Yanks the excuse to pull the plug on the deal, thereby saving £18 million (all the other stories linking us with left-sided midfielders are just a smokescreen). I wouldn't blame Benitez if he walks away from the club over this. The manager and ONLY the manager (not the owners, not the fans) should be the one to decide which players to buy and sell!
we need silva.. we should sign silva at all cost as we are starved for proper world class wingers. kuyt is not good enough as a winger when we play 4-4-2. kuyt cant play deeper and doesnt have the pace and creativity of a winger.
Silva has stated quite clearly that DOES NOT want to come to EnglandSo there is no chance of us signing him, regardless of how much money we are prepared to pay (which is almost certainly less than the mancs are prepared to pay). This is probably due to the fact that he doesn't fancy the physical side of the premiership (which probably means that it would take him a year to have any effect in the premiership anyway).
It's time to wake up and smell the coffee - THERE IS NO CHANCE OF US SIGNING DAVID SILVA.It's not even a question of money he just doesn't want to play here
