Fergie's mindgames show he's worried about Robbie Keane

By John Aldridge on Sep 13, 08 07:11 AM in Columnists

ROBBIE Keane should take the fact that he is the latest target of Fergie's mind games as a massive compliment.

The fact is Fergie wouldn't even bother mentioning you if he didn't think you were a possible threat, so I wasn't in the least bit surprised to hear that he'd questioned Robbie's transfer fee.

It was a clear attempt to wind him up and the important thing for Robbie is to not let it get to him and instead go out there and show what he can do.

If he gets on with his game then the goals will come. That's the way it is for strikers when you are going through a bit of a lean spell.

Robbie actually looked sharp for Ireland in midweek and he had one brilliant effort that would have been a wonder goal had it gone in.

Hopefully today will be the day when he opens his Liverpool account and if he does I'm sure Fergie will regret saying what he said.

What greater motivation could you need than that?
