Good start for Liverpool in new Superleague Formula Championship
THE NEW Superleague Formula Championship got off to a flying start despite miserable weather at Donington Park, with Liverpool and Tottenham both achieving podium finishes.
The football-themed motor racing championship, with a weekend prize money fund of one million euros, is being led by Beijing Guoan after round one after their driver, Davide Rigon, finished first in the opening race and then sixth in the second to give him 79 points. Spurs driver Duncan Tappy and Adrian Valles of Liverpool are locked in joint second with 72 after each secured a third and fifth finish.
"I was really pleased to finish fifth and then get a podium in race two," said Valles. "I'd like to thank Liverpool FC for the opportunity to drive their car."
