If Liverpool win at Chelsea, we're in wonderland
IF ANYONE had told us at the start of the season that beating Chelsea on October 26 would take us three points clear in the table we would have been in dream land.
Yet here we are a couple of days prior and it is most definitely a possibility. This season we have seen a side to Liverpool sadly lacking over the last 15 years, the 'don't know when they're beaten' mentality.
It all means exciting times for Liverpool fans but the hard work starts now and wiping out Chelsea's proud unbeaten home record would mean another massive step towards greater heights.
Wednesday's result, all things considered, was pretty acceptable and I'm sure most people would agree that the Premier League fixture tomorrow had greater importance.
It was great to see Robbie Keane slot away his goal so impressively, however a shame that he didn't tuck away the second chance that came his way soon after. You get the impression that once we see the best of Keane and players like Javier Mascherano, Daniel Agger and Ryan Babel, this team could really be going places.
However, we need to develop the ability to absolutely pummel teams, obviously that's a bit much to ask on Sunday, but we need to be fast out of the blocks and show the confidence that proves we are not in a false position.
Avoid defeat in this one and the league fixtures over the next couple of months aren't that daunting. Come Christmas we really could be in a winter wonder land.
