Angry Liverpool supporters air their thoughts on dismal Carling Cup exit

Help youngsters

I'M really starting to wonder if Rafa knows how to bring through talented young players.

At the club we have a few so called 'wonderkids' Rafa has said he wants to go the Wenger way, but I think he needs to start putting an arm round them and letting them know he has faith in their ability and tell them go and do their stuff.

Rafa also needs to play the good ones with a few senior players.

Clueless Babel

BABEL played 90 minutes and I have never seen anybody lose the ball and get caught in possession as many times in a match before. He has absolutely no clue when to pass or look up. He is clueless.

Woolton Dave

Not bothered

I COULDN'T care less about going out of the Carling Cup. Had Benitez wanted that trophy he would have played our best XI, not fringe players.

Benitez has his eyes on the Prem and proved it by prioritising Bolton over Spurs.

DRed

Play kids

PLAY Insua, bring back Hobbs, give Darby a chance but let's not EVER play Degen or Dossena again.

American Scouse

No heart

WE lacked desire, cohesion, fight, commitment, understanding and the very basic ability to being able to play.

J Barking Mad

Lacking leaders

ONE thing that's occurred to me is that nobody seemed the slightest bit interested in taking responsibility.

Sami was never the most vocal of captains, but even so it was worrying to see so little evidence of senior players wanting to help or motivate their colleagues.

Knee-jerk reactions I see are out in force. Yes we were a shambles, Dossena is a liability and should be got rid of in January. Degen, was his first game since last April competitively after been out with an injury similar length to Agger's absence.

Plessis and Lucas, young but either on didn't show much. Lucas, 5 million quid we spent on him and he needs to buck up otherwise like Dossena he should be shown the door.

Babel and El Zhar were shining lights. How can you say Babel lost possession all the time when he was tripled teamed at every opportunity the lack of support that was provided for him by his teammates was shocking. He isn't Maradona but a talented player non the less. Alonso came on changed the game in our direction.

We lost no big deal...we have bigger fish to fry this season and what matters at the moment is League points, let Spurs have the season crowning moment.

All well said. Being out of Carling cup now at least Rafa knows who to keep come January.
