Speaking with the Enemy: Liverpool v Fulham
Jan Tear, sports editor of the Fulham Gazette
What have you made to Fulham's start to the season?
We're in the top half but nobody is getting carried away.
A couple of weeks ago we'd have been in the bottom three if we'd lost to Newcastle.
There is a great deal of optimism around the club though.
Have the supporters taken to Roy Hodgson?
Anyone would have been welcome after Lawrie Sanchez who was very unpopular.
There was a feeling that he'd more or less taken Fulham down at the time of his departure last season.
Roy didn't have much of a track record over here when he arrived and a few fans weren't too sure at first but he's a wily old fox.
How is Danny Murphy getting on?
He's very much a mainstay in our midfield and he's built up a good understanding alongside Jimmy Bullard.
His goal at Portsmouth rescued us from relegation last season and ensured his longevity at the club as he was more or less offered a new contract straight afterwards.
Merseyside fans will know all about Andrew Johnson too, how is he shaping up?
He wasn't quite 100% fit when he first started but he's getting among the goals now.
He was determined to move back down south and wasn't happy at Everton.
There's a lot of optimism about his partnership with Bobby Zamora as they complement each other well.
What should we look out for from the Fulham side tomorrow?
We've got a really settled side this season and Roy hasn't tinkered by making many changes. It's all very orthodox and we play a regular 4-4-2 formation.
Ignoring Steven Gerrard is there any Liverpool player you'd like to see in the Fulham team?
No. Well actually I've always liked Xabi Alonso. I know that he nearly left Anfield in the summer but I think he's magnificent. He's just the kind of playmaker that Fulham crave.
Do you rate Liverpool as genuine title challengers?
I think they'll drop too many points with draws.
They do seem more up for it this season but I still reckon either Chelsea or Manchester United will end up as champions.
How do you see tomorrow's game going?
Fulham have never won at Anfield but after a couple of good results they'll go out there and enjoy the game.
I'm hopeful of them causing a shock and I think there's a real possibility of them nicking a draw.
