Red alert: Dean Saunders excited to turn out for Liverpool legends

WREXHAM'S Racecourse Ground is the venue for a special legends match between Liverpool and Manchester United on Sunday.

Strikers Ian Rush and John Aldridge are likely to be in action, along with a whole host of former greats.

Ex-Reds frontman Dean Saunders, who is now boss at Blue Square North outfit Wrexham, is relishing the chance to don his boots again.

"I'm really looking forward to this game and meeting up with some of my old friends," he said.

"Now I'm managing a club instead of playing, it can get frustrating standing on the sidelines.

"This is my chance to get back out there and enjoy myself. It's an opportunity to come along and relive the good old days!"

Tickets are available online from Ticketmaster.co.uk or call 0844 847 2500. They are also on sale from Wrexham's club shop (01978 262129).

John Arne Riise relishing Rome derby day experience

JOHN ARNE RIISE insists he is enjoying life at Roma - despite a torrid first few months in Italy.

The Giallorossi may have beaten Chelsea in the Champions League, but they are just one point above the Serie A relegation zone after taking just eight points from their opening10 games.

"I have a great relationship with the coach (Luciano Spalletti) and I am delighted he chose me," said Riise.

"I still can't speak Italian too well but I am having lessons every week and I hope I learn quickly."

The 28-year-old, who left the Reds for £4million back in the summer after seven years at Anfield, is relishing the prospect of facing bitter city rivals Lazio on Sunday.

"I have heard that the game will be like Liverpool against Everton matches, if not better," he added.

"The atmosphere will be electric and we want to do very well.

"I played many derbies in Liverpool and I am anxious to play against Lazio. I am hoping we continue to do as we did against Chelsea."
