We need George Gillett and Tom Hicks gagged and taken to a short pier

RAFA robs Robbie - of a nailed-on hat-trick, that is.

No room for sentiment at the top of football these days, it seems.

Anyway, we'll forgive him.

It's also pleasing to hear of his imminent new contract, although according to reports Gillett and Hicks want him gagged!

If anybody should be gagged it's the said G&H - then bound and taken on a long trip off a short pier.

While we're at it, give the idiot who brought them in some of the same treatment.

And donate his unbelievable salary to a trust for the new ground we once thought we were getting and now need more than ever.Perhaps Rogan Taylor's baby is the way forward - in partnership with DIC's dosh it sounds perfect.

Saturday's game was some way short of perfection, but it will do nicely nevertheless.

They must have read my column on Saturday - I did ask for four though, chaps!

Keane's brace were both beautifully taken, and could have easily been missed by a lesser man.

The hope is he kicks on now, minus his monkey, assuming he's allowed to stay on the pitch long enough that is.

I see Steven Gerrard is getting rave reviews as well, but personally I thought he was far from his best, apart from the through ball for the first goal.

We could have done with Albert Riera playing, too - I believe he featured on the team sheet, but I'm blowed if I could see him on the pitch.

Like many teams without width, we were always taking the central route where the defenders are massed, ready and can usually read us.

The margin for error on those rapid one-twos is almost nil, so nine out of 10 come unstuck.

When it works it's great, but you're not going to create chances by the hatful.

That said, onwards and upwards.

And good news from the Emirates as well.
