Fergie deflated as Liverpool bounce back in style.

It was a good day at Anfield yesterday. The supporters demonstrated against the two owners who are currently causing us so many problems, the atmosphere was electric and we stuffed the team we love to hate the most.
Added to that was the sight of Fergie again living up to his honorary title of Britain's Angriest Pensioner.
Sir Angry Ferguson once said he "loved to see all those empty seats" at Anfield when Liverpool fans were leaving early due to being on the receiving end of defeats by United.
The sight of SAF bouncing up and down on the touchline, beach ball like, red-faced and raging at things not going his way, was a hoot.
Fergie has yet again had a go at the referee after this game. Apparently, Andre Marriner was "too inexperienced" for this game. Alan Wiley can't keep up with play according to Fergie and the FA are supposedly dealing with his comments over that remark. The question needs to be asked, just who would be the perfect referee for SAF?
Any referee that gives every decision to Man United I suppose.
It's laughable that we are supposed to be in the midst of a Respect for referees' campaign and United's players, as usual, spent the entire game in Andre Marriner's face. Especially Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney. As the half-time whistle blew virtually the entire United team surrounded the referee. Respect for referees?
It's arguable that it was United that caused the rot to set in regarding "respect" for referees anyway.
Who can forget the images of Andy D'urso getting chased all over the Old Trafford pitch - Benny Hill like - by Roy Keane, Nicky Butt, Japp Stam, David Beckham and Gary Neville?
D'urso had had the audacity to award a penalty against Man United and was hounded by five United players.
Maybe Fergie wants Andy D'urso to referee every week, whenever Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney are unavailable that is.
How United can say they got a raw deal from the referee is a joke. Patrice Evra should have been off the pitch before half time. The Frenchman seems to take it as a personal insult if anyone runs past him. Every time a Liverpool player did so, he hacked them down. He got one booking but deserved more.
Vidic is a laugh isn't he?
Now sent off three times in succession against Liverpool, the Serbian defender either lacks pace or positional skills or both. He gets lauded in the pro-United press but every time I see him he looks as effective as a pig on roller skates.
Michael Owen returned and received the sort of reception we all expected. A bit sad, but he only has himself to blame.
I'd have liked to have been a fly on the wall in the United dressing room after the game. Especially to view Gary Neville's reaction. He has made no secret of his feelings about us; "I can't stand Liverpool, I can't stand Liverpool people, I can't stand anything to do with them. When I was growing up there was certainly a large amount of jealousy involved. The truth is, I envied them for all the success their team was having."
United's fans love to remind us how long it is since we won the league, they forget that they went from 1967 to 1993 without winning the league either.
Liverpool well deserved the win as "the champions" were outplayed for most of the game.
It gets more and more annoying that the Americans did not give Rafa the money to sign the players we needed last summer. United will be there or thereabouts for the title again yet I don't see anything really special about them.
The fact that we beat them without Gerrard says a lot about their strength and also a lot about our own. Maybe some of our players need to realise that LFC is not Torres and Gerrard and nine others.
Torres played well and gave the United defence kittens, but Benayoun had another good game and Kuyt had the best game I've seen him play for ages. Even Lucas played well.
It's always great to beat United in whatever competition or circumstance but we really need this win to finally settle us down and get the season back on track.
We need to go on a long unbeaten run now and get through the Christmas period into January and hopefully sign one or two reinforcements.
The Champions League campaign is virtually in tatters and if we qualify for the knock out stages from the position we are in currently it will be an escape Houdini would not believe.
Mind you, if we don't have access to the Champions League money going forward then we might need Houdini on the board to sort the finances out.
