ALBERT RIERA has reassured Liverpool supporters that the club's Spanish contingent have no intention of walking away from Anfield.

And the winger believes that Fernando Torres and Pepe Reina share his burning desire to lift silverware for Rafael Benitez's side.

All three have been linked with moves away from Liverpool during a difficult campaign for the Anfield outfit.

But Riera, who has been an impressive performer since his return from a hamstring injury last month, is convinced all are committed to transforming the team's fortunes.

"It isn't in the character of any of us to turn our backs and run somewhere else when times are tough," said Riera.

"All of us would like to look back on our Liverpool career and say it was a success.

"I think exactly like them. It is clear how happy Pepe and Fernando are at the club and I have no doubt they will both be here for a very long time no matter what happens. They have both said to me that they want to make history with Liverpool and I share that ambition. I understand I haven't enjoyed quite as big an impact on the club as them (Torres and Reina) so far but I intend to."

Riera was linked strongly with a return to Spain towards the end of last summer's transfer window, but is instead now eager to underline his Anfield loyalty.

"For me, if the club offered a five, six or seven-year contract right now, I'd sign it with my eyes closed," said the Spain international.

"Where else is there to go? Being anywhere else would be a step down. I have everything I need in Liverpool."

Riera has started the last four games since his return to full fitness, and is aiming to retain his place for Saturday's visit of Everton in the 213th Merseyside derby.

And another player who could be in contention for a starting role is Fabio Aurelio, with the Brazilian now having returned to training.

Aurelio has been sidelined since suffering a calf injury at Stoke City a fortnight ago, the latest in a long list of niggling injury problems for the Brazilian left-back.

But Liverpool assistant manager Sammy Lee said: "Fabio is back in training which is good news. Whether he will be ready for Saturday, well we will have to assess that in the next few days.

"But the positive thing is that we have Nabil (El Zhar), Martin Kelly and Fabio back in training."
