Torres Turns Nasty Towards His Former Club and Team Mates
What is it with former players and Managers, these days? Since Rafa left the club and having been
sacked by Inter Milan he spent his time giving radio and television
interviews. Each time, a little bit more
about his time as manager of Liverpool has been released. I would have thought for someone, who
believes that he still has the respect of the majority of Liverpool Supporters,
it would be better for him to keep quiet.
There will come a point at some time in the future, on the publication
of a book, he can reveal all.
Where players are concerned, it appears that some of them
are better than others. Some like
Michael Owen will just move on and continue with their career elsewhere. Then we have some players, who believing that
they have moved on to a better club, go home to their native countries and
decide to spill the beans.
Fernando Torres as we all know left Liverpool in January for
a new career with Chelsea after pledging his allegiance to Liverpool at the
beginning of the season. This is fine I
guess, but the way he did it, has turned the majority of the club's supporters
against him. There is nothing worse,
than your hero turning out not to be the man you thought he was, but it
happened and Torres decided whilst in Spain this week that he would rub further
salt into the wounds he had already caused.
This week he spoke to Marca and decided to let the world
know about his time at Liverpool. I
don't know whether he was aware that it would be picked up quickly, translated
and published in the English Press. It
has been though and I am being polite in saying that his comments are outrageous.
His first comment is about the only one that is right. Torres claims that there was chaos at the
club - we all know that, because with everything happening around Tom Hicks and
George Gillett, it was never going to be anything but.
He also claims that there was talk about possible new
projects: Of course there was, it is part and parcel of the sale process when
prospect new owners are found.
Now Torres is quoted as saying that it was like that at
Athletico Madrid, before he decided to leave. So in reality all he is doing is
chasing the money - he appears to be unable to understand the meaning of the
word loyalty and why it should be part and parcel of the contract he signs with
whatever club he is at.
What really irks me about the lad, is the insults that he is
throwing at his old team mates. He has said that since his arrival at Chelsea,
he has found the players are more friendly and they interact better. This is from the man who refused to go out on
any of the team building or celebration evenings that were arranged for the
Liverpool players. I may be wrong but I
get the feeling, this ungrateful young man never wanted to be at Liverpool in
the first place. I suspect that in the
end the transfer took place, just to keep everyone quiet.
His comments about Chelsea being a more professional team
have made me laugh. They are simply a
group of foul mouthed, ill-mannered lads, who believe that they can get away
with anything whether it is law abiding or not.
On the football side, he believes that they are the ones to
guarantee him the success he wants in the Champions League and our other
domestic competitions. How I wish he
would wake, because going by their recent form, it simply is not going to
happen, whereas Kenny has reawakened a desire amongst the players at Liverpool
and I suspect very soon he will look back with envy.
In the meantime though, although I believe he has fallen out
of love with football, he had better start scoring because if not I suspect Abramovitch
will move him on very quickly in the summer.
One thing a man with a large amount of money does not like is to see it
wasted and quite frankly at the moment it is £50 million being thrown down the
drain. The lad is not going to score whilst his so called 'new friends' refuse
to pass the ball to him and I suspect he already realises he has made a massive
mistake, which will of course explain his bad body language on the pitch.
One thing I do know is that when Torres is moved on again,
he will pull apart his so called 'new friends' because people like that always
do.

Rafa has said absolutely nothing wrong . Torres on the other hand is scum.
Chelsea should beware of Torres. He'll do the same to them if they have a falling out. I think that Torres may be jealous of Suarez's success thus far. Fernando who?
Rafa left with dignity and he has said nothing bad about the club, only H&G and that sly dog Purslow. Hodgson left with little dignity but he has said nothing bad about the club, only the expectations were too high and too little time given. Torres left with no dignity and has been spread lies about his reasons for leaving, from ambition, chaos, and now team-mates. It just says alot of a person's character really.
Please stop the anti-Rafa nonsense Faith. It's getting old. We get you don't like the man and personally I couldn't care less about the reasons. Torres turned out to be a bell end but that's hardly Rafa's fault. Rafa fought tooth and nail for the survival of LFC when Hicks and Gillett tried to run it to the ground so he deserves a little respect.
Think he bottled it when Suarez was being bought from Ajax. Why on earth would you leave when the club is on a seemingly turnaround? We all now know of course that it has turn around? But, why the lack of faith shown by Torres. Fair enough he made a decision to leave. But, he must learn to accept his "good fortune" with a little bit more diplomacy (tact), or he could find himself on the short end the longer he stays goalless.
Long may his goal scoring drought continue

Torres...Torres..I know I've heard that name somewhere before, perhaps it was on a Most Wanted poster somewhere. It seems he's been lost and no one can find him. ROFLMAO! 50M for an injury-prone, cancerous, and cravenly has-been? ROFLMAO! I'll make that trade every day and twice on Sunday. We didn't see his deceit until too late, but he was the one responsible for a great deal of our woes in the last 18 months. Good riddance, and Nando, we've moved on, why haven't you? We have a bright future about to be embarked on, you have a team with an average age of almost 29. If Abromavich buys a brand new team for mega-bucks, how are you going to qualify until the "Fair Play" rules? No Europe for Chelski! Great decision, BY US! Only Torres will walk alone.
Torres is a traitor. He even criticises the team that he is supposed to support since boyhood (i.e. A Madrid). At the end of the day,he is a selfish, mercenary and under-achieving football player.
Nando..wake up and move on
Stop talking about LFC.
Hardly to understand why he just cant stop talking about LFC since his departure.
Is he regretting or what?

clit-torres is scum and rafa should keep his pie hole shut........who signed 85 players? fatty did! how many were worthy of the shirt? not even 10% of them, the only good thing he did was to bring back the king
Shevchenko remember him he cost millions he back in his home land . torres beware
Who cares anymore, Torres is yesterdays news. Thanks for the goals and the £27m profit. Hope he finds what he's looking for.
Let's move on

Leave Rafa out of this debate - he has said nothing bad about the club since he left, and he also made massive donations to the Hillsborough support group and a local charity.

my mate from chelsea told me torres was trying so little at Liverpool that when they checked his fitness at chekski....he was only half fit. they are now working to get him up. that upset me more than any other drivel he spits out. sure we know about his injuries, but players work hard in a short period to get that fully fit. my pool brothers have a good think about that. half fit. being a professional is taking your job seriously. if you are at a rubbish club you hate, at a relegation fight, no matter where... its taken for granted you get your fitness right.....................and I used to wonder why he was so injury prone...
Rafe has said nothing but good about the team and the set-up. His main beef was with H&G as well as P. Just leave it alone can't you? Here is a man who really loves LFC and you can't stop sniping at him for God's sake.
All i know is from what i have seen of Carroll and Suarez the deal that sold Babel and Torres to other clubs liverpool are huge winners.
Lets face it these guys are younger and give us far more possible options and goals than Torres and Babel ever would.
So whatever Torres says i laugh because we are better off without him.
My comment calling the author of this article a crank & a cheerleader for Purslow has been removed.Yet the comment by user 'me' stating that Torres is 'clit-scum' and Benitez a 'fatty' remains.I used no fowl language in my post, but simply stated my opinion & asked what the authors problem with Benitez was.As far as I am concerned the author of this article consistently slanders a former manager of LFC and I was asking for an explanation for this.It seems that the administrator of this site defends negative and unsubstantiated comments against Benitez & will remove any dissenting voices against this defamation of character. This action just reinforces my initial comment.By the way the definition of a crank is 'a person who unshakably holds a belief that most of his or her contemporaries consider to be false' Sound like anyone??
Is Torres just another Anelka in the making? Discuss.
I was not slandering Benitez at all. I merely said that in every interview he gives, he brings up a little about the situation at Liverpool before he left. If you don't like what I say, please make a reasonable comment, not one that is insulting. If you are the person that gave me grief on the Mirror's forums and ended up being banned, please be careful because although I am not a hateful person, who disapproves every time someone makes a comment I will ensure it
happens again.
Faith
Unlike you I don't suffer from selective amnesia. In another recent article you wrote, you stated that Benitez set up a photo opportunity on Old Hall street with a number of men pretending to be builders working in the street. You don't consider that slanderous? So according to you, with absolutely no evidence provided, you tell your readers--LFC fans--that Benitez gets a group of men together to 'pretend' to be builders, takes a picture to show how popular he is, and he does all this as a means of undermining Dalglish. What kind of warped view of reality are you peddling here?As for the mirror forum,I never go near that rumour-mongering rag.But funny enough this is not the first time you've warned me to keep my mouth shut. When you were calling for Benitez to be sacked & singing the praises of Purslow, you warned me and 'my kind' to keep off the terraces lest we effect the sale of the club.Who are 'my kind' exactly? I was born in the city & I live in the city & I have supported LFC all my life,45 years. It's quite something when one LFC 'fan' tells another to keep their mouths shut & subtly threatens them, simply because they don't agree with the malicious rubbish they spout.Keep your threats to yourself. There was nothing insulting or malicious in my posts. If you're going to write garbage on LFC be prepared for the fall out from genuine fans.
Guys c'mon now.....
We're on the same team. I'm from South Africa and watched the Pool vs Man game live. What an amazing experience. Liverpool and it's people were the only good part of my stay in the UK. Can't wait to come back.
Arkles bar rocks!
As for Rafa, the man made us all these millions with Masch, Alonso and Torres etc and if you're still not sure that all he wanted was to prosper LFC, ask yourself this..... Where does the Spaniard currently live??? Nuff said!!
