So that shows, once the transfer window re-opens, that there will be definitely other clubs, big clubs too, that will want the creative Scot as part of their midfield for next season. Dalglish, as well as a scout from Tottenham, were said to be at Ewood Park last Saturday to watch Adam net a brace, so there will be competition. As well as Spurs, Manchester United will be looking for a long term replacement for Paul Scholes, so they too will have a watchful eye over developments.
So it seems like the ex-Rangers man will have his pick of clubs come the summer. With only a year left on his contract, The Seasiders won't be expecting as high a price as they were asking in January, but would welcome a bidding war. After years of being out muscled in the market, Liverpool seem to have the spending power so the only obvious hinderance to a deal would be lack of European football. Of course, A Europa League spot is still within the realms of possibility, but it's The Champions League where the players want to play and Sir Alex Ferguson has that trump card if he wishes to pursue his interest. There is no doubt Liverpool are on the up though, and with everyone finally moving in the same direction, it would be no surprise if Anfield was top of his destination wish list.
Liverpool and Charlie Adam sound good together too. Both a player and a club who are on the rise again after a recent downturn in fortunes, they could complement each other perfectly. A consistent, creative, set piece specialist in a team that currently lacks flair and quick passing who have just added the most promising strike partnership in World Football. Sounds like a match made in heaven and if there's a player who could really make the most of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll's assets, Adam's the man.
Last weeks victory at Sunderland was the first Premier League game since Sami Hyypia left the club that Liverpool looked a genuine threat from corners and it is no coincidence that it was Carroll's full debut. If it was Adam, whose corners according to Alex Ferguson are worth "at least ten million by themselves" swinging them in to the biggest aerial threat in the Premier League, then the rewards that they could reap may be priceless. It's not just the big man that will benefit as the Scot can link the midfield and attack with clever passes which Suarez will gladly feed off.
Liverpool have been lacking a deep lying playmaker since Xabi Alonso left, but despite his eye for an effort from his own half, Charlie Adam plays more like his countryman Gary McAllister than the Spaniard. The ability to play long or short balls with an equal amount of class an accuracy is an asset possessed by few. Many fans have said Gary Mac should have been purchased ten years earlier, well this could be Dalglish's chance to redeem himself and not miss out on another player who could play beyond his mid thirties. With his reliance on speed of thought rather than speed of legs, coupled with that outstanding range of passing, it could be a signing for ten years. Charlie Adam really could be that good.
There are other positions that Liverpool need to strengthen before Central Midfield. The narrowness of Liverpool's play dictates that a winger is necessary, whilst Martin Kelly's hamstring injury has shown the lack of natural full backs at the club. However, Liverpool still need a different type of player in the middle, particularly when Steven Gerrard isn't playing. Liverpool's captain has only played in six of Dalglish's fifteen games due to suspension then injury, and in his absence Liverpool have used Christian Poulsen, Fabio Aurelio and Jay Spearing in the position between Lucas Leiva and Raul Meireles, with varying amounts of success. Charlie Adam fits that position perfectly and, with no disrespect to the players just mentioned, offers a lot more offensively.
It may seem strange discussing a player that doesn't play for the club in such detail, even stranger when it's about a player discarded from the SPL, who was playing in the Championship this time last year; and all this would look pretty pointless if the player does decide to go elsewhere. But Charlie Adam could be a revelation if he was at Anfield. Kenny Dalglish knows this, the board will know this so all that is left is for the player to know it. Being on the march with Kenny's army feels right again, but it would feel just more Liverpool like if there was a Scottish player at the forefront.

C Adam is simply a must. A player that can only get better with world class quality players around him. I can see him chipping in with between 15-20 goals per season as if defenders are too busy marking Luis & Andy & hopefully Sanchez or Young, he will quietly do the business for us.Of course the reverse also applies.
If indeed Spurs have opted to drop out of the race for him we should be able to buy him for a reasonable price unless old Whisky Nose gate crashes the party as usual.
Bet you he will score more than Pool's previous No.9
WE REALLY SHOULD SIGN HIM ... WE WILL BE FEARED THROUGHOUT EUROPE WITH HIM AND CARROLL IN THE TEAM - OUR FREE KICKS AND CORNER KICKS WOULD BE REAL GOAL THREATS !!!
HE IS ALSO GOOD AT DICTATING PLAY AND STARTING COUNTER ATTACKS !!!
WITH THE ADDITION OF SKILLFUL AND PACEY WINGERS, WE COULD BE AN AWESOME TEAM WITH A GREAT VARIETY OF OPTIONS HOW TO PLAY FOOTBALL.
I HOPE FOR A BIG SUMMER SPREE ... AND IF WE GET IT, WE CAN REALLY CHALLENGE ON ALL FRONTS AGAIN !!!
WE WILL BE BACK SOONER RATHER THAN LATER.
KEEP THE FAITH LADS !!!

As a lifelong Seasider, it will be a very sad day when Charlie is no longer wearing the tangerine shirt, however, for the right price he will go with our eternal thanks and blessing in the Summer.
I disagree with the view his fee will be less than could have been commanded in the window; his stock has risen and we have a very stubborn Chairman!
If you guys do not go all out to get Charlie in the Summer, I think it would be something you'd ultimately regret. His mercurial success for us demonstrates the quality of the player (far more in his locker than McAllister!).
He is just the kind of talisman you are missing. But, he's got to ensure our safety first!
All the best.
