LIVERPOOL One, Liverpool One. We're starting to sound like a shopping centre.

I partly blame lack of personnel up front, plus a shortage of enterprise on the flanks.

Apart from the occasional sublime piece of skill such as the equaliser, we aren't going to score that many, that often (Newcastle excepted, and even then we only knocked half the goals we should have).

THIS week, the main man told people 'to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and begin again.'

He added that 'we've chosen hope over fear'. Given our proprietorship, we of all football aficionados must take the hint.

And good advice it is, too.

Because on Monday night I could have sworn (actually I did, quite a lot) that the game was up.

THOUGHT so. Despite all the eulogies about 'clinical' or 'machine-like' efficiency after a 3-0 win over the might of West Brom, we still can't be relied upon to pick up three points in these home games as a matter of formality.

Shows what a lot of the media knows, although it does make a good headline.

If your pint glass is half-full, then the fact that the Really Big Two drew as well means that it's as you were.

IT DOESN'T get any better, does it? On the pitch it's rolling along nicely, give or take the odd missed chance or 10. But off it, oh my God.

Now it seems our abject poverty means we're going to be railroaded into a groundshare with the Toffeemen. Of course, there is a certain logic to this, but since when did logic have anything to do with football?

It also appears that independent analysts judge us the most financially unstable club in the whole Premier League. We may even have to sell star players like Xabi Alonso in January. Great.

RAFA robs Robbie - of a nailed-on hat-trick, that is.

No room for sentiment at the top of football these days, it seems.

Anyway, we'll forgive him.

It's also pleasing to hear of his imminent new contract, although according to reports Gillett and Hicks want him gagged!
