TRANMERE manager Ronnie Moore captured former Liverpool midfield player Charlie Barnett on a one-year contract last night and declared: "This is a brilliant signing."
The 19-year-old has been lighting up Tranmere's pre-season performances over the last three week, impressing coaching staff and supporters with his passing skills.
Moore said: "This is a brilliant signing for the club and it's one I'm very excited about. Charlie has done really well in pre-season with us.

TRANMERE ROVERS have signed Liverpool defender Godwin Antwi on loan until January.
The 20-year old has been with Liverpool since 2005 when he joined from Spanish side Real Zaragoza after being spotted by Rafa Benitez's then head scout, Paco Herrera.
Born in Kumasi, Ghana and holder of a Spanish passport, Antwi was part of Liverpool's FA Youth Cup winning side in 2006. He has made more than 40 first team appearances during loan spells away from Liverpool.
IF RONNIE Moore had his way, several of Liverpool's most promising youngsters would be Prenton Park regulars in the coming season.
The Tranmere boss is one of many managers in the lower divisions who are keen to raid Rafa Benitez's gold reserves at the merest hint that the teenagers who guided Liverpool to the reserve league title last season could be available on loan - and with good reason.

DANIEL AGGER has vowed to fight for his first-team place after returning from his injury nightmare against Tranmere Rovers on Saturday.
