The man that replaced Rafa Benitez has been very dismissive of what people write on websites this week. He's been dismissive of Scandinavian journalists too but that is another story..

All of the on-line polls I've seen - on Liverpool supporter websites - have 90% of people wanting the manager to leave - and leave now. So I suppose he would be dismissive of those sort of results..

Carragher and Gerrard have been supporting him and asking for more time for him. What a pity some senior players didn't plead for more time for Benitez..

This much can be said for Christian Purslow: he's not the root cause of the problems at Liverpool.

And you can extend things further than that: he's clearly quite canny.

Just look at the PR work he's done in recent days.

First, wasn't last week's story about Hicks and the Blackstone Group rather strange?

There simply has never been a manager that has caused more debate than Rafael Benitez. Love him or hate him, there wasn't much middle ground for Liverpool's marmite manager and even though he has gone, the debate is unlikely to cease anytime soon.

There won't ever be an official end to this Anfield civil war, never will there be a point where everyone decides to see eye to eye on his reign. The verdict has been given but the jury will be discussing the case throughout these incredibly important years on the horizon.
