AFC Liverpool set to paint the town Red!
REDS have had to revise Bill Shankly's famous quote "there are only two teams in this city."
Because AFC Liverpool have now joined their senior counterparts and the Reds reserves.
AFC Liverpool resumed their hunt for local football stars today, after original trials caused a stir when over 300 footballers converged on Buckley Hill in Netherton with dreams of impressing the new club's manager.
AFC Liverpool's historic first match is an all ticket encounter against St Helens Town on Wednesday, July 16, at Ashton Town (7.45pm).
Boss Derek Goulding said: "Any lads selected will know in time for pre-season training on July 5. Just 11 days later they could be running out to You'll Never Walk Alone. It's the stuff of footballing romance."
Match and coach tickets are on sale at News From Nowhere Bookstore in Bold Street, Liverpool.

Top award for stating the obvious
ANDRIY VORONIN wins this summer's award for stating the blindingly obvious.
The Ukrainian striker claimed this week: "I think I still have a lot to show the fans."
After a paltry five goals in his debut season in England, just two of them post-October, and a couple of digs at his Mersey environment, Reds fans will be hoping Voronin can make good on his promise.
The striker admitted he had problems settling following his switch from Bayer Leverkusen.
"When I first arrived here I didn't find it easy because I'd lived in Germany for 12 years," he explained.
"I didn't know the language but I'm gradually getting there. My wife had a a baby here and, thank God, everything was okay. So I am getting more and more used to life here everyday.
"We are feeling much better than six or seven months ago. We like it here and don't have any problems with life in England or the town - except for the weather!"
Voronin made an impressive start to his Liverpool career, netting a goal of the season contender in a Champions League qualifier at Toulouse.
"I'll do my best next season and hopefully I can help the team. I think I still have a lot to show the fans."

what a stupid! AFC Liverpool.
This team is nothing but just a bunch of losers trying to show off and get piece of Liverpool FC legend to their own interests.
As Bill said, 'There's only 2 teams in the city.' beyond that, it's just a joke.
Dream on mate.
Hardly a joke or a dream. It's a reality.
And given that LFC itself have given AFC Liverpool its blessing then I don't see why any red would have a problem with it.
Using the LFC legend to their own interests?
Well their only interest is to provide affordable football with an LFC identity so that the thousands who can't afford LFC prices at the moment can still get to a game every Saturday - and take their kids with them.
Hard to see your objection really. It should be every Red's second team. Especially those who are reduced to only being able to watch LFC on the telly.
If LFC wish AFC Liverpool the best of luck, what stops you.
