Thanks to all Liverpool FC fans for your great support
AS some readers will already know, this is my final Blood Red.
A fresh challenge awaits and soon this column will have a new - and no doubt more attractive - face at its head.
All that remains for me - and my apologies for going all Gwyneth Paltrow - is to thank everyone who has helped and supported me in my time as the ECHO's LFC reporter.
It goes without saying the players, management, staff and hierarchy at Liverpool have been first rate and their understanding of the importance of the local media to local fans has made my job much easier than it could have been.
My colleagues at the ECHO have on occasions turned my sow's ears into silk purses and for that I will be forever grateful.
But it is the readers that count most and in my time I have been fortunate enough to meet so many of you and receive countless e-mails and phone calls.
At times there has been praise and support and at times there has been criticism (usually totally deserved) and even abuse (again, often justified).
My one remaining wish is for my eventual successor to get to write that ECHO match report which confirms Liverpool have finally regained their title - because that really would be the most monumental of moments for the club, the fans and this city.

Good lock, Tony. Unlike some cherubic rascals out there, you're clearly a proper journalist as well as a proper Red. All the best in the future!
Yes! Good luck. I found you more balanced than "NOTW Chris" who seems lost at sea since he swapped Old Hall Street for Wapping, and I enjoyed your journalism because of that sense of proportion you gave to fans. We need someone who's as forceful to give a voice to fans with the up-coming and future battles with Hicks and Gillette. Hope we get your equal or better as a replacement... There's always someone better out there Tony, even for me.
Good luck!
