Tommy Smith: Hicks and Gillett must go now
EIGHT or nine months after a new Managing Director was brought in to Anfield to run the club - and hopefully sell it - we get reports that someone else is being brought in to run the club and sell it.
The fans have no idea what is going on - whether this new man is good news or bad.
But they do know a world famous football club built up by Bill Shankly 50 years ago continues to go through hellish, uncertain and agonising times.
Tom Hicks and George Gillett are just money grabbers who have ruined Liverpool FC, so I hope it's true they've now accepted they must sell up.
They are a bad dream who so far have refused to go away. They can't be trusted and they're killing the club I love..
I know they can't be blamed for everything that's gone wrong this season. But they are at the root of all our problems.
It is unthinkable they could be there much longer. Hicks and Gillett have got to go - now.
