57% vote to end the 'Rafalution'

On May 10th I set up a simple poll which asked if Rafa was still the man to lead Liverpool. Of the 206 votes cast 57% (117) said 'No' and felt it was time to end the 'Rafalution' and find a new manager, with 43% (89) feeling Benitez should still be the man in charge. In comparison, when I asked the same question back in December only 29% felt it was time for a managerial change.
We all know the challenges Rafa has had to deal with as a result of the appalling American ownership and the lack of funds available to him to buy top-class players, however, we also know how Rafa's team selections, overly cautious tactics, strange substitutions and faith in 'less-than-worthy' players can also frustrate.
Rafa, so the papers say, wants to stay at Anfield and if he does it's going to be very interesting to see just how well he can keep Liverpool supporters convinced he is still the man for the job.
In Rafa do you trust?

RAFA IS BRILLIANT IN EUROPE BUT IN PREMIERSHIP JUST HAS NOT DONE IT. TO TAKE TORRES OF WITH 30 MINS TO GO AGAINST THE BRUMMIES WHEN U R CHASING CHAMPIOS LGE FOOTBALL & GERRARD SCATCHING HIS HEAD SAYS IT ALL Y.N.W.A
I still believe Rafa's the man to take us forward. He just needs the backing in the transfer market. If the key players are still behind him that tells you all you need to now.
Great poll! Of our estimated 10 million worldwide fan base, you poll 206. That's it then, the fans have spoken - Rafa out!! God, I am beginning to hate the internet.
If Chesea's team is given to Rafa, Liverpool will be fighting for 4th spot. Reason? Rafa's tactics can ruin good players!
no mark poll, by no mark 'fans' from a no mark website ... check RAWK a real supporters website - over 100 polled 85% wanted Rafa for another. Reflects the calibre of the plastic natire of visitors to this site. me me me, now, now, now ... for the more 'knowledgeable' amongst you name one other manager anywhere who has gotten to 4 major european semis in 6 years ...
spot on satha if rafa was given his pick of the best players around he'd play kaka in defence ????????? enough said
over 1000 fans polled on RAWK not 100
Maybe the correct poll is another:
1) Are Liverpool good enough to get fourth place? (with nineteen defeats: worse historic run in EPL)
If You are honest, objective, You must answer "Yes, Liverpool is good enough for CL football, and Rafa has failed as a coach of football".
I'm tired to debate about managerial's skills of Rafa Benitez, because I will never persadue nobody to change his opinion, but in terms of Coach Of Football, game - style, tactics, formations, subs, points, Rafa Benitez was poor & miserable.
Only one Player (Xabi Alonso, and not Maradona) can't make this huge difference in terms of points.
In 2008/2009 campaign Rafa Benitez spend 39 millions of pounds to reinforce the team.
Now We should analyse in a correct way his signings: Robbie Keane, Dossena, Degen, Voronin, Where are They now?
People consider last season a positive campaign: it's a mistake.
Last season was a "cadeau" to Manchester United.
If You analyse the table on December, the transfer decisions of Little Napoleon, and the final table You must come to the conclusion that last season was a "cadeau" to Manchester United and not a positive season.
This will be great news for HICKS & GILLETTE!!!! They are the ones we want to retain and Rafa should leave. They provided Rafa with the best 11 on this planet and we are delighted with the group of players we have. We need not buy another player and any manager will be delighted to work with this H&G; high value assembly. We have never criticised any player because all are above criticism. We have a better team than Chelsea, Mancs, Arsenal, even ManC and Rafa still could not win the title. We are the most intelligent football supporters in the world!
This is a 'mickey mouse' poll, and the 'fans' that read this site are proof of this. As Bouncer says, go and look at RAWK's poll where there are intelligent readers & fans.
I'm talking about fourth place, fourth place...the minimun standard of LFC, not a trophy.
You have the same formation of last season, less Xabi Alonso (Is Xabi Maradona?), and You have now 63 points.
Rafa Benitez failed as a coach of football: Fact.
I've never said that Players are all above critics and It looks that Plyrs (especially Two Local Lad Heroes) are been well criticised for all season.
That's right, but You can't think that anyone must be criticised except for the manager.
He's the man in charge, and He must share the blame. FACT.
You can say anything You want on Steven Gerrard, but Stevie goes out and publicy screaming "Ok Mates, it's not been my best season, I must improve my condition".
Fact.
Rafa Benitez is the man Who took responsibility, and He can't blame anyone except himself.
Man C & Tottenham have not the experience & level of actual Liverpool's team: CL football for Spurs was a cadeau of LFC.
If You listen to Harry Redknapp's words You will know that Harrt is totally agree with me.
This idiot manager should be sacked ASAP! Really an Idiot and stupid manager that makes all Liverpool fans look stupid!
If Rafa is so bad why are some of the best clubs in Europe desperate for his services? 9 points over a season short of fourth- people need to get stuff into perspective!!
Desperate??
Desperate?'
The reality is that Juve turned down Rafa benitez for "Gigi Del Neri" as Real Madrid prefer Jose Mourinho or Fabio Capello rather than Rafa Benitez.
Desperate...
No Clubs knocked to our door to secure the services of Rafa Benitez.
And Now We are in this situation: sacking Rafa, and so paying to him a huge pay out cheque, or try desperately to find a way to bring on the Club forward with a disgrace of manager, because He has not the dignity to do the right thing: simply resigning from his Job.
The truth with Rafa, the best players will be on the bench, and all average players will be in the starting lineup, the like of LUCAS
