You would do well to find a Liverpool fan on Earth who believed that the current squad needs no tweaking in time for next season. It is widely believed by Reds fans that few positions within the team could not be improved upon, and looking at Liverpool's season it is easy to see why.
Of course, transfers are just one ingredient needed to create a recipe for success, but they are incredibly important nonetheless. The transfer success rate of Rafa Benitez has come under question in his Liverpool reign. Whilst players like Alonso, Torres and Reina were undoubtedly fantastic acquisitions, the number of players to quickly show their lack of value causes concern. Mark Gonzalez and Craig Bellamy are just two examples of players that Benitez clearly realised he bought in false confidence, as they were sold soon after.
Moving away from the past and looking into the near future, this summer's transfer window could be the most crucial in recent years for Liverpool Football Club.
