Giving Roy time is a luxury we cannot afford

The man that replaced Rafa Benitez has been very dismissive of what people write on websites this week. He's been dismissive of Scandinavian journalists too but that is another story..
All of the on-line polls I've seen - on Liverpool supporter websites - have 90% of people wanting the manager to leave - and leave now. So I suppose he would be dismissive of those sort of results..
Carragher and Gerrard have been supporting him and asking for more time for him. What a pity some senior players didn't plead for more time for Benitez..
We are currently down in the bottom three and to quote an old Shankly phrase, the way we are playing "we'll take some shifting".
We face a relegation six-pointer against Blackburn on Sunday.
I'll repeat that for those that want our current manager to be given more time.
We face a relegation six-pointer against Blackburn on Sunday.
Two seasons ago with largely the same team we finished second, yet the apologists for our current manager would have us all believe that Rafa Benitez left the club in a dire situation. Actually he left us in seventh place. Dire for him I suppose as in the previous four seasons we'd never finished below fourth but there you go.
The two people who had been systematically destroying the club finally got booted out last week at the High Court in London. The much-hoped -for tarring and feathering never happened but you can't have everything can you?
Quite why our current manager believes he has been left so much in the lurch is a mystery.
Our last manager, Mr.Benitez, was obviously such a poor manager that we had to pay the current Champions of Europe to take him off our hands.
You can imagine NESV's response to that little snippet can't you?
"So, run that by me again Christian, we had a manager that had taken the club to two Champions League finals, won one of them, won the FA Cup, won the Super Cup in Monaco, got the club to second place in the Premiership the season before last and supposedly because he finished seventh last year, you paid the current European Champions to take him off your hands"?
"And the guy you brought in to "steady the ship" has us at the bottom of the table right..? Well I suppose once we hit rock bottom we'll be pretty steady then..."
Ninety percent of Liverpool supporters have voted for our current manager to be removed - before it becomes too late, not just to save the season, but to save the club from a relegation fight that we seem currently ill-equipped to win.
This is Liverpool FC. It is not "Utopia" to expect to win at Goodison Park - it's not like we've never done it before...
We shouldn't lose to newly promoted Blackpool at home.
We shouldn't get knocked out of cup competitions at home by Northampton town.
When Sir Alex Ferguson verbally attacks our main striker, we shouldn't sit there and say nothing.
A nil-nil result away against Naples in the Europa League is not some sort of masterstroke.
Whatever our current manager thinks of what websites may say, or on-line polls, he - and NESV - ignore them at their peril. They mirror what the supporters think.
Many of us have supported this club for a long, long time. Many remember the days of Bill Shankly and everything since, right up to Benitez. We know what we are watching, we are not stupid or blind as some people seem to think.
We have just got rid of two people that were quite simply killing the club.
Before this club can get back to what it was - what it should be - there is much more work to do.
Vital decisions on who decides the team and the tactics. On who spends any transfer budget is key to that future. Get it wrong and we won't have a future.
Not in the Premiership anyway.
Over to you, John W Henry.

40 years a red, worse I have seen. He has to go, nothing more needs to be said.
Well written article and I'm in total agreement. We need Joe Januszewski, the lifelong Liverpool fan and vice-President at Fenway Enterprises on the board to make sure we get shot of Scratcch me chin in bemusement before he does any further damage.
Yes Roy is not capable of managing a club at this level and without sounding agist I think hes too old to step up to this level and the challenges that are involved . Lets face it hes two yeatrs off pension age . So lets retire him early !!
spot on & unfortunately necessary,
thanks Larry
the board are best off just getting rid asap, instead of just waiting around, as Hodgson looks to have already passed the point of no return - he's a sitting duck and Liverpool can't move forwards with the manager in such a precarious position
Start playing our best players in their correct positions! Gerrard in the centre of midfield, mirales next to him, play Johnson on the right with Kelly behind him, carra and a fit agger and aurellio at the back.. Left mid jova or babel and cole with torres upfront.. It's an attack minded line up- which is what we need right now!
Sack Hodgson please.

I cant agree more with the thoughts and sentiment that underlines this article. The apologists seem more interested in LFC having an English manager rather than the right manager. Would I be out of order to suggest some xenophobia is determining the support Hodgson is getting?
I have firmly said in the past I was shocked roy got the job, His experience is vast yet empty....
Id like to see him leave a.s.a.p. but....
In these unprecedented times I will support roy and give him at least a fair chance. No point us killing him publicly regardless of situation until january, then he can be replaced and can walk away with some dignity.
I can say I am surprised at the lack of support the guy has got in what is a traditionally well backed job.
All Im saying is upto now its been horrific... same stuff by january then please just leave with some respect for what we want at our club.

Most of the comments you can agree and disagree with..being a footballer for the last 30years the players have to take a long hard look in the mirror and decide if they want to play for club..If not get them out asap and get some players in that will play with passion and pride that's what Liverpool is all about...
