It's this simple, Fernando

By Brendan Leary on Jan 29, 11 09:17 AM in Columnists

It may be that the club have broken promises they made you. But now you have broken your word to the fans.

You are alleged to want a deal advantageous to both the club and yourself.

Yet you've tried to corner us in the closing days of this transfer window, at a time when both Madrid and Barcelona are financially hamstrung. There's no advantageous circumstances there for us.

So if LFC do what's right, they'll make you sweat and announce to all and sundry the issue will be revisited in the summer.

Don't be surprised if we accept Madrid's offer ahead of others.

After all, what's one more betrayal on top of another?

this is the start of a wider plan. the fat man with a goaty has submitted a plan that will see firstly torres arrive before him so not to upset the fans... followed by a certain liverpool keeper arriving in july with a former liverpool playmaker currently plying his trade in madrid who is not enjoying life under the once known special one to follow. this holy trinity will then attract the other players targeted for a complete overhaul of some ageing stars for a renewed assault on all possible honours. watch this space for the danish centre half to follow. fat man will be in place after the next bad couple of results

Just accept the fact that Liverpool are a club living on past glories, torres can no longer waste his career at Liverpool especially after tasting success with Spain at the world cup. Since joining Liverpool he has won NOTHING, he loves Liverpool but he also loved ATL Madrid, the bottom line is, he is getting into his peak and he doesn't want to wait another 3 years to challenge for the title with Liverpool when he can challenge next season with a Chelsea or city. If he gets to 30 having won nothing at club level this will be a huge failure in his eyes, the Liverpool fans are passionate but so what, when you hang up your boots you want to count medals, u dnt care about how passionate the fans are, it's about winning so Liverpool fans can be as passionate as they want but the name of the game is winning. Torres has waited for the NEW owners to make a statement in the transfer window and to be honest they haven't spent the money quickly enough, they've hesitated over deals and have not shown torres that they want to challenge for big honours. Liverpool owners promised him this and that knowing full well that they couldn't deliver those promises so now it's time for a change and the further decline of LFC continues to deepen, Enjoy another 20 yrs without the Prem and and Champions LGE.

I think you're probably right about Rafa going to Chelsea having something to do with the Torres bid.

No way will Reina, Agger and Alonso go though.

My only consolation is: This is all done more by his representatives and chelsky and less by himself.
If this is not the case, I don't want to see him in a red shirt again, I don't want to hear about him, I don't want him near our club.
Just sell him, take the money and go on.
He will walk alone, in that sugar-daddy-blue shirt.

Let him go. When reality kicks in he will realise that he has left one of the greatest clubs in the world with the greatest fans in the world for what? Some extra dosh with a plastic club with plastic fans with no football history. It will be Torres biggest mistake of his life!
